You can delete the data Motionhooks holds about you at any time. This page explains the three ways to do it and what gets removed in each case.
1. Disconnect a single platform
If you only want to remove a connected social account (for example, your Instagram or Threads account) but keep your Motionhooks workspace:
- Sign in at motionhooks.com/auth/sign-in.
- Open Settings → Accounts.
- Click Disconnect next to the platform you want to remove.
Disconnecting marks the account as removed, deletes the encrypted access and refresh tokens, and stops all scheduled posts that targeted that account.
2. Delete your entire account and workspace
To permanently remove every piece of data we hold about you — including your workspace, brand voice, drafts, scheduled posts, post history, connected accounts, and AI chat sessions:
- Email deylian@heykoop.nl from the address you use to sign in.
- Use the subject line “Account deletion request”.
- We will confirm deletion within 30 days and email you a confirmation when the data is gone. Most requests are processed within 72 hours.
3. Automated deletion from Facebook / Instagram / Threads
When you remove the Motionhooks app from your Facebook, Instagram, or Threads settings, Meta sends our server a signed deletion request. We:
- Hard-delete all social account rows tied to your Meta user id.
- Hard-delete the encrypted access tokens for those rows.
- Mark any scheduled posts that targeted those accounts as cancelled.
- Return a confirmation code Meta can use to verify the deletion succeeded.
The Meta-facing callback endpoints are /api/oauth/instagram/data-deletion and /api/oauth/threads/data-deletion — these are HMAC-verified using your platform’s app secret and are not for human use.
What is kept (and why)
After deletion we retain only the minimum required for legal compliance and abuse prevention:
- Aggregated, non-identifying audit logs (no personal content) for up to 12 months.
- Stripe billing records, which are kept by Stripe for the period required by tax law (typically 7 years).
